January 26, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment Anaheim, CA, USA (January 25, 2025) Reigning SuperMotocross World Champions, Jett Lawrence of Team Honda HRC Progressive and Haiden Deegan of Team Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing, are back on top in round 3 of the Monster Energy Supercross Championship. Heading into the 2025 season, both were expected to be dominating the entire series, with even talks about the season becoming boring and that they might sweep their respective classes. But as it goes, the former had a 12-2 finish while the latter had a 5-3 finish from the first two rounds. Although the season is long, the pressure that surrounds both champions to be perfect and to completely dominate their opponents didn’t happen in the first two rounds. Some are quick to criticize them already because of this. Progressive Insurance Ecstar Suzuki’s Ken Roczen had an amazing ride to end up the 450 Main Event race with second overall, outriding Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson. Roczen also took the red plate, or overall championship standings, with second place, and that would make him the third red plate holder in three rounds. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac, who had a dominating heat race win, suffered with a mediocre start in the main event race, which eventually ended in 7th, and as a result, lost the red plate. But it was Jett Lawrence who systematically picked positions all the way to first place and back to the title hunt to defend his 450 supercross title. Jett and Eli are now tied in third, just 5 points behind Roczen, who is the new overall points leader. In the 250 West class, it was an interesting battle between Haiden Deegan and Red Bull KTM rider Julien Beumer from qualifying, the heat race, and eventually the main! Beumer and Deegan made contact during their heat races that led to the former crashing, and just a few moments later Deegan casing the triple but miraculously was able to keep it on two wheels. Then during the main event, while Deegan was pulling away slowly from Beuemer and the rest of the riders, the rain started to fall. Triumph’s Jordon Smith tipped over in the latter part of the race, which gave Cole Davies of Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing his first podium in his third professional race! BEASTMODE ELI TOMAC IS BACK! JULIEN BEAUMER WINS HIS FIRST CAREER 250SX!
BEASTMODE ELI TOMAC IS BACK! JULIEN BEAUMER WINS HIS FIRST CAREER 250SX! January 19, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment San Diego, Calif. (January 18, 2025) It was an epic battle to the wire between Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac and defending Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450 Champion Jett Lawrence, where the former edges out the latter. It was a very exciting race as both of them battled their way to the front after a mediocre start where two-time 450 champion Cooper Webb led the opening laps battling with former rival Ken Roczen at one point but ultimately finished third, inside the podium. Team Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence was closely behind Tomac the whole race, even as they both made moves for the lead over Webb. The Beast mode pace they were carrying was so ridiculously fast that they even lapped Motoconcept Honda rider Vince Friese, who got the holeshot! It was during the press conference that Eli addressed a moment where he thought he would lose the race because of the unpredictability of lappers positioning themselves as the front runners passed by. At the end of the 450SX race, it was 32-year-old Eli Tomac who took his 53rd career Monster Energy AMA Supercross victory. He takes over the points lead for the first time since suffering what was potentially a career-ending injury in 2023. In the 250SX Class racing, 18-year-old Julien Beaumer followed up his career-first podium last week at Anaheim 1 with his first career win. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cole Davies took the holeshot and led early with Beaumer making several moves for the lead. Veteran 250SX rider Jordon Smith of Triumph Racing is back inside the podium from last week in Anaheim 1 race. Defending 250SMX World Champion Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan fought forward from a mid-pack start but struggled the whole race admitting he suffered arm pump during the race. “Congrats to Juju, that was a good race on him. My race was just embarrassing, I’m sorry you had to watch that. I just got a little pumped up in the beginning and it just [got worse] from there. All I can do is work harder this week and come out swinging.” – Haiden Deegan eli tomac, jett lawrence, mmf live, mx messiah, Sam Tamayo, supercross Share this post Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as mx_admin. Jett Lawrence A1 SX Race Update
Jett Lawrence A1 SX Race Update January 12, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment Anaheim, CA, (January 11, 2025) A subpar performance for the reigning Monster Energy Supercross 450 champion, Jett Lawrence, during the opening round of the sold-out Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Although he got second in the qualifying, the heat race and main event didn’t go as well, finishing in 12th place. Here is what the Honda HRC Progressive rider has to say from his Instagram after the race. “So that wasn’t ideal, I feel like I had a pretty good jump and this kind of. those tuff blocks kind of come in..the start straight kind of lined up all quickly…but at least now the only way to go is up for me. so lets just go back…we’re gonna go back and do some testing…as soon as we figure out the bike..it’s still making some troubles for us in the whoops and stuff like that. and yeah we tried…skimming is sketchy and we tried jumping and i think…I was sketchy just jumping so we’re gonna go back work hard and we’ll come back and we’ll be better, we always do. Where the people say we left, but we never left in the first place we’re gonna come back and hit them harder. What did Hunter once said? “No more Mr. nice guy.” https://www.instagram.com/p/DEu_jnvyMnC/ Share this post Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as mx_admin. Edit your profile. Log out? Jo Shimoda and Chase Sexton dominate Supercross Opener in Anaheim
Jo Shimoda and Chase Sexton dominate Supercross Opener in Anaheim January 12, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment Anaheim, CA, (January 11, 2025) A sold-out Anaheim 1 Supercross Opener in Angel Stadium lived up to expectation as one of the most exciting season openers in recent years. The thousands in attendance were at the edge of their seats watching the whole main event as title favorites like Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha riders’ Eli Tomac and Haiden Deegan found themselves on the ground during the opening lap of their respective main event races. In the 20-minute plus one-lap 450 class main event, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jorge Prado took the holeshot and the early lead until crowd favorite Eli Tomac did quick work to the front. But not long after, he got run over by Red Bull KTM Racing’s Chase Sexton after his motorcycle’s front end washed out in the corner. But it was Sexton who took his first opening round win in convincing fashion, even with a brief stall near the midpoint where Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki’s Ken Roczen, who battled forward, reaching second place, almost caught him. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson managed to avoid first-turn chaos and found himself in the lead on the first lap. After intense battles with Sexton and Roczen, he finished the race on the podium in third place. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac crashed on the opening lap while leading and made an impressive comeback from last place to fifth, while the defending champion, Team Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence, had two big mistakes in the opening laps and was only able to climb back to 12th spot. “I kind of knew where I was at coming in here. I knew I had good speed. I feel more like myself in 2023 when I was fast, but I feel like I’m a little more mature now and I can get out front and kind of run my own laps and not make mistakes, so it was a fun race. [I] had Kenny behind me, and also Jason, and it was just a good ride. Honestly, I had so much fun on this track tonight. I can’t give it up to the team enough. They put in so much hard work this off-season to get me comfortable, knowing that I wasn’t comfortable last year; and coming in now we’re back where we need to be. We still have lots to improve; it’s only one race in and there’s 16 left, but we’re off to a good start and first time winning A1 feels pretty good.” – Chase Sexton, after winning the A1 Main Event following his Heat Race victory. “Talk about a high and a low; I mean, oh my gosh, I just couldn’t believe it, you know?… [I] made the pass for the lead over the triple there. I’m like, ‘Okay, you know, here we go! Let’s put this great 20 minutes in…’ And just like that, it ended. I just tucked my front end there in that 90 degree corner. Good Ol’ Anaheim, gets slick in the evening, and didn’t respect it. So all these years I’ve done it and just, you know, barely made that mistake. I had a good come back, getting to that fifth. I’m excited [about] the way I rode the rest of the main there, so thank you… I was feeling just like I should, and what I know I can do, the whole day there. So great qualifying and a good quarter lap, but we’re going to come back. [laughs]” – Eli Tomac, when asked to describe his emotions after crashing out of the lead on the first lap. In the 250SX West class, Honda HRC Progressive’s Joe Shimoda rode a nearly flawless race and led every lap to take the victory. The Japanese rider surprised many, even the all-star broadcast team members James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael, with a great start, while two-time 250 SMX World Champion Haiden Deegan had a bad start, hit the rear tire of the rider in front of him, and hence crashed, getting fifth place in the 15-minute plus one-lap main event. “This is the start I was looking for every single year. And I think I was honestly sleeping on the gate [in previous seasons]. [Laughs] But we came out with a good start and just put in some consistent laps, you know, and never looked back. All this happened because of my team behind it. I’d just like to thank everyone at Honda, my trainer, mechanic and everybody… Thank you so much. Thank you, I love you guys.” – Jo Shimoda, when asked on the podium how it feels to start the season with a strong performance. “Not really happy to get interviewed for fifth, but better than last year. We’ll take the positive. Obviously not a great start. It happens, [I] went down, [then] fought my heart out and made my way back up to fifth and that’s all I could do. But congrats to the boys, obviously the light should be shined on them and all we can do is come out swinging at the next race.” – Haiden Deegan, when asked about his impressive charge to fifth place. The Lawrence brothers became the first brothers in Supercross history to finish 1-2.
The Lawrence brothers became the first brothers in Supercross history to finish 1-2. May 5, 2024 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment Denver, Colorado (May 4, 2024): Team Honda HRC’s Lawrence brothers finished 1-2 to become the first siblings in Supercross history to achieve such feat. Hunter Lawrence grabbed the holeshot and led the first half of the race until Jett made the pass for the lead and won his eighth race in his rookie season. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson finished third, while Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb finished in fifth, losing 8 championship points to Jett. “It was a good night. Just more happy to get this for the team, honestly. They work so hard and we love those guys so much and this is the only way we can really, really repay them. And yeah, unreal, I think that was history for brothers going 1-2. So yeah, big night for Jett as well points-wise … [asked if he considered a strategy for helping his brother and possibly not pushing for the win] …the championship’s not about me right now, you know, it’s about Jett and Cooper. And the point of having a teammate is to, you know, help you out and stuff. You’ve seen over the past decade, so I was glad I was just able to help Jettson out for once. And yeah, it was cool, but just stoked for the team and yeah, I’ll get that win soon enough.” – Hunter Lawrence hunter lawrence, jett lawrence, supercross Share this post Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as mx_admin. Jett Lawrence extends his points lead to 12 heading to the last two rounds.
Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence rode unchallenged from start to finish to get his seventh career 450 main event at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The rookie extended his point lead to 12 heading into the last two rounds of the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross, organized by Feld Entertainment. Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rider Cooper Webb rode behind Lawrence but dropped positions until getting forced by Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson to relinquish podium position when he passed him in the final corner before the checkered flag. But it was Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton who put on a show, as he was the one battling his way from mediocre starts to second place on the podium. “I might have found some of my speed back in that Main Event. I had some good laps, came from pretty far back and, especially on a track like this that’s really hard to pass on, I feel like I made the best of it. Yeah, we made some big [adjustments] this week on the bike, and it seemed to pay off somewhat. So we’ll go back to work, keep improving, and [we] gotta get another win before the season’s out. I think I’m starting to get back to my normal form, and we’re looking forward to these last two rounds and heading into outdoors.” – Chase Sexton Jett Lawrence extends his points lead to 12 heading to the last two rounds. Jett Lawrence is back on top and has swung back the championship momentum on his side.
Jett Lawrence got a 20+ point lead and is in total control of the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross 450 Championship by Feld Entertainment until he got bam bam’d by TLD Gasgas rider Justin Barcia, but not of either Jett nor Barcia’s fault but just a racing incident. And since then, the momentum has swung against his favor. He found himself losing a huge point lead and tied with two-time Monster Energy Supercross 450 champion Cooper Webb! But last weekend, Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence earned his sixth win of the season with a convincing victory inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. At the start of the main event, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac grabbed the holeshot and held onto the lead until the midpoint. He finished in second place, while his Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing teammate, Cooper Webb, who had tied up the points leading into Nashville, earned third place. The finish puts him back five points with three rounds remaining in the 17-round Monster Energy Supercross season. “I hate losing, so that bit of a losing streak really sucked. But [I’m] really pumped to come out and get it done here, especially with the Slash and Gibson [designed] gear. Those people are awesome to us, so I have to say a big shout out to them; I reckon it helped a lot. [I] felt good out there [and] hit my marks. A big [bummer] for Kenny, I didn’t get to fully see [Roczen’s crash] because of all the smoke, but it looked like it was pretty bad, so I hope he’s okay or has a speedy recovery from that. But… this [win] is leading in the good direction, so hopefully we keep it going.” – Jett Lawrence
Jett Lawrence dominates Indy Supercross
Indianapolis, Indiana (March 17, 2024): Team Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence took the win, his fifth victory of the season, at Round 10 of the 17-round 2024 Monster Energy Supercross season inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Lawrence became the second 450SX Class racer to sweep a Triple Crown event, which uses the results from three 12-minute plus one-lap races to determine the overall winner.
Jett Lawrence dominated Daytona Supercross
Daytona Beach, Fla. (March 3, 2024): Team Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence took his third win of the season at Round 8 of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship inside the Daytona International Speedway. The rain from the previous weeks made the dirt very soft, and the strong downpour before the qualifying made it arguably the most challenging Daytona Supercross track condition ever. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac settled for an impressive second-place finish, with his bike smoking pretty badly around half way until the end while battling with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton. Tomac’s winning streak of five straight wins at Daytona ended that day.
