Pittsburgh, Pa. (April 27, 2025)—Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb extends his overall championship points lead to 12 with an impressive win over his archrival Chase Sexton in Pittsburgh Supercross. The win means Webb can place second behind Sexton in the last two rounds and still win his third premiere class Supercross championship.
Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton, who set the fastest lap in qualifying, was in second the whole race. He was close enough to apply the pressure to Webb, but a mistake in the whoops, which almost had him crash, showed how the two riders were pushing the limits of the already deteriorated track. Justin Cooper, who won the 450 Heat race against the KTM riders, battled with Aaron Plessinger but secured the last spot on the podium to earn his second podium of the season. In the Eastern Divisional 250SX Class. Red Bull KTM’s Tom Vialle delivered a clutch performance to win and get him the overall points lead back by one and claim his first victory of the season. The win marked the first time in the sport’s history that a Lites championship has delivered seven different winners. Nate Thrasher, who took the early lead, ended the race in second, while Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha’s Maximus Vohland got his career-first podium finish in third.February 1, 2024
