Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence rode unchallenged from start to finish to get his seventh career 450 main event at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The rookie extended his point lead to 12 heading into the last two rounds of the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross, organized by Feld Entertainment. Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha rider Cooper Webb rode behind Lawrence but dropped positions until getting forced by Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson to relinquish podium position when he passed him in the final corner before the checkered flag.
But it was Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton who put on a show, as he was the one battling his way from mediocre starts to second place on the podium.
“I might have found some of my speed back in that Main Event. I had some good laps, came from pretty far back and, especially on a track like this that’s really hard to pass on, I feel like I made the best of it. Yeah, we made some big [adjustments] this week on the bike, and it seemed to pay off somewhat. So we’ll go back to work, keep improving, and [we] gotta get another win before the season’s out. I think I’m starting to get back to my normal form, and we’re looking forward to these last two rounds and heading into outdoors.” – Chase Sexton
