The overall win happened when Red Bull KTM rider Chase Sexton crashed after hitting the rear tire of Webb in an attempt to pass for the lead during the last lap of Race 3. Sexton, who did not need to win the last race to win the overall, remounted on the bike and ended up 5th in the race; his 3-2-5 scores still got him the third overall. Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki’s Ken Roczen took second overall with a 1-5-3 race score. The 450 Overall Championship has Webb as the sole red plate holder heading into Daytona next weekend. The Western Divisional 250SX Class had Monster Energy Yamaha Racing’s Haiden Deegan win his second of the season, hence grabbing the overall championship points away from Red Bull KTM’s Julien Beaumer. Muc-Off FXR ClubMX Yamaha’s Coty Schock, who got 2-4-6 scores, won his first career podium with a second overall behind Deegan. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Michael Mosiman took the final podium spot with 3-2-7 finishes. chase sexton, cooper webb, supercross Share this post Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as mx_admin. Malcolm Stewart wins his first in Tampa Supercross.

Malcolm Stewart wins his first in Tampa Supercross. February 9, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment Tampa, Fla., (February 8, 2025) The crowd erupted inside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, when Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Malcolm Stewart crossed the finish line to earn his career-first 450SX Class victory at Round 5 of the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship! It was the 32-year-old’s 109th race start in his 15 years of professional racing! He mentioned in the post-race podium interview, “Stewart’s back in the whoops, y’all,” when asked about what led to his historic win to be the first brothers to win a race in the premier class 450! Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cooper Webb pushed forward to second place, passing Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson and Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki’s Ken Roczen midway during the race. Roczen, who seems to be settled in third spot, collided with a lapper, which resulted in a crash and DNF after the chain in his bike derailed. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Chase Sexton, who got the holeshot and led most of the Tampa Supercross, crashed hard in the whoops and handed the lead to Stewart with just a few minutes remaining. Sexton recovered quickly, still in second, but was off the pace and dropped back to fifth in the final laps. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac injured his foot in qualifying and raced only to salvage points; he finished in 17th position. “Big bro, you know. You’ve done this a long time, racing Daytona and Jacksonville, and you know there’s something about that hometown crowd, buddy. I don’t know if they were twisting the throttle for me, because, for a split second, I was like, ‘Alright, I need to get this done.’ I was feeling really good, and you know what, Stewart is back in the whoops, y’all! ” – Malcolm Stewart, being interviewed by his brother and former Supercross champion James Stewart from the broadcast booth. In the 250 East Class, Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Max Anstie grabbed the holeshot, followed by teammates Pierce Brown and Daxton Bennick. Brown made a pass on Anstie for the lead and was riding really well until he crashed in the whoops and caused the stoppage of the race. The race was red flagged; hence, a staggered race start happened. In the end it was Anstie and Bennick who went first and second, while the injured Monster Energy Pro Circuit rider Cameron McAdoo finished third after a hard-fought battle with his teammate Seth Hammaker. “Pierce [Brown] went down. I hate to see that. He was riding so well and just spun and ended up going over the bars… After that, it kind of took the wind out of my sails. They red-flagged it; I and [teammate] Dax were up front, and it was like a day at the Goat Farm [Training Facility]. And honestly, I was like, ‘Let’s not do anything silly right now.’ The whoops were really tricky, and it’s round one, so you’re always a little more nervous.” – Max Anstie Share this post Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as mx_admin. THE LAWRENCE BROTHERS’ SECRET TO SUCCESS

THE LAWRENCE BROTHERS’ SECRET TO SUCCESS January 31, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment THE LAWRENCE BROTHERS’ SECRET TO SUCCESS The Lawrence brother’s easygoing kind of nature sets them apart from the rest of their competition. Aside from their natural ability and talent, what really made them unique was their childlike nature and ability to handle pressure. I interviewed both of them during the Anaheim 2 press day and was amazed at how they seemed to be very accommodating and smiling, not showing any signs of stress, which later on was disclosed in the public that they had an issue with their former agent. It was January 23rd when a statement from the Lawrence brothers came out against their agent Mirtl, firing him as their agent because of fraudulent activities and misuse of business funds for personal gains, and on the 24th, during Anaheim 2 press day, I interviewed both the Lawrence brothers, and you can sense that they are not stressed about the whole issue and are focused on their riding and racing. Check out a glimpse of who truly are the Lawrence brothers. In the interview, I get to see some very important family values that are somehow very unique and different from most families. Here are those: Primitive Eastern-style family culture. They have a very close and culturally different family from most family cultures in the Western region of the globe. Most families, when their children become adults or turn 18, have to be on their own; there is that cultural pressure for them to leave home and live under the shadow of their parents. They kind of want to explore the world on their own. That’s when some end up with the wrong crowd, peers, and sometimes get out of focus with training, hence have their careers fade sooner than later. In the interview, both Jett and Hunter are clearly very particular about how their successes were because of the accountability and relationship among them. Their dad, who seems to be a disciplinarian, is their hero. The example of Mr. Lawrence, the dad, is very much appreciated and is clearly referenced by the brothers as to why they made it to the highest level of the sport. That is not a common Western culture today anymore. 2. Genuinely grateful. The Lawrence family story has been heard by all by now. But to say they are grateful for the blessings they received and continuously receive is an understatement. How do they do that? In my interview with Hunter Lawrence, he can still vividly share their trips to Southeast Asia, like their trip to Indonesia. Them racing the MXGP and even visiting different cultures have made them emotionally mature and understanding. They have a broader understanding of different cultures from around the world, which made them unique and genuinely grateful. They don’t take their blessings for granted because they have not just experienced hardships themselves but have also seen poverty from their trips around the world. With that mindset and worldview, they are extremely grateful to be in the US and accepted here. 3. Pressure proof! Both the Lawrence brothers, with their unique culture and perspective as discussed above, handle pressure much less than their competition. That’s just it. Their support system is solid with their family behind them. Their worldview is different; that’s why they understand why, with haters, they just see it as a cultural indifference, and with the experience they had from Australia to Europe and now the US, they are in the best mindset a champion can ever have to be able to sustain top performance despite the pressure from sponsors, sports stakeholders, etc. During this interview, I realize what separates the Lawrence Brothers from the rest of the field is their unique family culture and worldview, which makes them pressure-proof or gives them the ability to perform well despite the pressure that comes from racing at the highest level. Ken Roczen gets the red plate for Suzuki

Ken Roczen gets the red plate for Suzuki January 30, 2025 Photo Credit: Ken Roczen FB Ken Roczen gets the red plate for Suzuki! How in the world does a privateer or semi-factory rider on a Suzuki end up with a red plate after three rounds of the 2025 Monster Energy Supercross? When was the last time a yellow bike had the red plate in the premier 450 Supercross class? The answer is there’s a German rider named Ken Roczen who is the most consistent rider in the series thus far. The Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki rider posted on his social media on January 28 a picture of his motorcycle with the red plate, which means he is the series’ overall points leader. With three rounds in, there have been three red plate holders as well, such as Red Bull KTM rider Chase Sexton and Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing rider Eli Tomac. Here’s what Ken Roczen has to say about having the red plate after getting second place in the Anaheim 2 Supercross last weekend: “It’s an absolute dream. After I was in position last week for a possible third, I came back [to the truck and] was thinking it would be so rad to share a red plate with Eli. And just to have a red plate, it’s been a long time, especially on a Suzuki. I wasn’t able to make [a win] happen tonight. This was an absolutely insane race. We were in a battle the whole way, and it was awesome. With the rain and how hardpacked the dirt was, it was very slippery out there, but I just kept my focus the whole way… After making a [first] pass stick on Jason I hit neutral, and he got me back. I was bummed because it’s a lot of work to get by.” – Ken Roczen, regarding a comment that he moved into the points lead for the first time since the opening round of 2022. The pass for the lead and huge save of Haiden Deegan that had Supercross fans buzzing about whether it was clean or aggressive. Monster Energy Star Yamaha’s Haiden Deegan executed a pass for the win over his teammate Michael Mosiman and Red Bull KTM Rider Julien Beumer in the same corner and just a few moments later cased a massive jump but miraculously saved it during the Heat Race of the 250 West Supercross in Angel Stadium, Anaheim, California. At the moment, the reel video uploaded by Coach Sam Tamayo on their MxMessiah FB page had 46.1k views for the pass and 706k for the save. Fans are debating as to whether it was a clean or aggressive move. In the Main Event, Deegan collected his first win of the 2025 Supercross season while San Diego winner, Julien Beumer, got second. The latter is currently leading the former by 5 points in the overall championship standings. The next round of the championship series will be at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 1. The event will be the first Triple Crown and will host the first SMX Next amateur race that gives tomorrow’s stars a chance to compete on professional supercross tracks inside select stadiums throughout the season. The Arizona round will also launch the continuing “Love Moto Stop Cancer” partnership between Monster Energy AMA Supercross and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The racing starts at 8 pm ET. BEASTMODE ELI TOMAC IS BACK! JULIEN BEAUMER WINS HIS FIRST CAREER 250SX!

BEASTMODE ELI TOMAC IS BACK! JULIEN BEAUMER WINS HIS FIRST CAREER 250SX! January 19, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment San Diego, Calif. (January 18, 2025) It was an epic battle to the wire between Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac and defending Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450 Champion Jett Lawrence, where the former edges out the latter. It was a very exciting race as both of them battled their way to the front after a mediocre start where two-time 450 champion Cooper Webb led the opening laps battling with former rival Ken Roczen at one point but ultimately finished third, inside the podium. Team Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence was closely behind Tomac the whole race, even as they both made moves for the lead over Webb. The Beast mode pace they were carrying was so ridiculously fast that they even lapped Motoconcept Honda rider Vince Friese, who got the holeshot! It was during the press conference that Eli addressed a moment where he thought he would lose the race because of the unpredictability of lappers positioning themselves as the front runners passed by. At the end of the 450SX race, it was 32-year-old Eli Tomac who took his 53rd career Monster Energy AMA Supercross victory. He takes over the points lead for the first time since suffering what was potentially a career-ending injury in 2023. In the 250SX Class racing, 18-year-old Julien Beaumer followed up his career-first podium last week at Anaheim 1 with his first career win. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Cole Davies took the holeshot and led early with Beaumer making several moves for the lead. Veteran 250SX rider Jordon Smith of Triumph Racing is back inside the podium from last week in Anaheim 1 race. Defending 250SMX World Champion Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Haiden Deegan fought forward from a mid-pack start but struggled the whole race admitting he suffered arm pump during the race. “Congrats to Juju, that was a good race on him. My race was just embarrassing, I’m sorry you had to watch that. I just got a little pumped up in the beginning and it just [got worse] from there. All I can do is work harder this week and come out swinging.” – Haiden Deegan eli tomac, jett lawrence, mmf live, mx messiah, Sam Tamayo, supercross Share this post Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as mx_admin. Jo Shimoda and Chase Sexton dominate Supercross Opener in Anaheim

Jo Shimoda and Chase Sexton dominate Supercross Opener in Anaheim January 12, 2025 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment Anaheim, CA, (January 11, 2025) A sold-out Anaheim 1 Supercross Opener in Angel Stadium lived up to expectation as one of the most exciting season openers in recent years. The thousands in attendance were at the edge of their seats watching the whole main event as title favorites like Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha riders’ Eli Tomac and Haiden Deegan found themselves on the ground during the opening lap of their respective main event races. In the 20-minute plus one-lap 450 class main event, Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jorge Prado took the holeshot and the early lead until crowd favorite Eli Tomac did quick work to the front. But not long after, he got run over by Red Bull KTM Racing’s Chase Sexton after his motorcycle’s front end washed out in the corner. But it was Sexton who took his first opening round win in convincing fashion, even with a brief stall near the midpoint where Progressive Insurance ECSTAR Suzuki’s Ken Roczen, who battled forward, reaching second place, almost caught him. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson managed to avoid first-turn chaos and found himself in the lead on the first lap. After intense battles with Sexton and Roczen, he finished the race on the podium in third place. Monster Energy Yamaha Star Racing’s Eli Tomac crashed on the opening lap while leading and made an impressive comeback from last place to fifth, while the defending champion, Team Honda HRC Progressive’s Jett Lawrence, had two big mistakes in the opening laps and was only able to climb back to 12th spot. “I kind of knew where I was at coming in here. I knew I had good speed. I feel more like myself in 2023 when I was fast, but I feel like I’m a little more mature now and I can get out front and kind of run my own laps and not make mistakes, so it was a fun race. [I] had Kenny behind me, and also Jason, and it was just a good ride. Honestly, I had so much fun on this track tonight. I can’t give it up to the team enough. They put in so much hard work this off-season to get me comfortable, knowing that I wasn’t comfortable last year; and coming in now we’re back where we need to be. We still have lots to improve; it’s only one race in and there’s 16 left, but we’re off to a good start and first time winning A1 feels pretty good.” – Chase Sexton, after winning the A1 Main Event following his Heat Race victory. “Talk about a high and a low; I mean, oh my gosh, I just couldn’t believe it, you know?… [I] made the pass for the lead over the triple there. I’m like, ‘Okay, you know, here we go! Let’s put this great 20 minutes in…’ And just like that, it ended. I just tucked my front end there in that 90 degree corner. Good Ol’ Anaheim, gets slick in the evening, and didn’t respect it. So all these years I’ve done it and just, you know, barely made that mistake. I had a good come back, getting to that fifth. I’m excited [about] the way I rode the rest of the main there, so thank you… I was feeling just like I should, and what I know I can do, the whole day there. So great qualifying and a good quarter lap, but we’re going to come back. [laughs]” – Eli Tomac, when asked to describe his emotions after crashing out of the lead on the first lap. In the 250SX West class, Honda HRC Progressive’s Joe Shimoda rode a nearly flawless race and led every lap to take the victory. The Japanese rider surprised many, even the all-star broadcast team members James Stewart and Ricky Carmichael, with a great start, while two-time 250 SMX World Champion Haiden Deegan had a bad start, hit the rear tire of the rider in front of him, and hence crashed, getting fifth place in the 15-minute plus one-lap main event. “This is the start I was looking for every single year. And I think I was honestly sleeping on the gate [in previous seasons]. [Laughs] But we came out with a good start and just put in some consistent laps, you know, and never looked back. All this happened because of my team behind it. I’d just like to thank everyone at Honda, my trainer, mechanic and everybody… Thank you so much. Thank you, I love you guys.” – Jo Shimoda, when asked on the podium how it feels to start the season with a strong performance. “Not really happy to get interviewed for fifth, but better than last year. We’ll take the positive. Obviously not a great start. It happens, [I] went down, [then] fought my heart out and made my way back up to fifth and that’s all I could do. But congrats to the boys, obviously the light should be shined on them and all we can do is come out swinging at the next race.” – Haiden Deegan, when asked about his impressive charge to fifth place. The Lawrence brothers became the first brothers in Supercross history to finish 1-2. May 5, 2024 Photo Credit: Feld Entertainment Denver, Colorado (May 4, 2024): Team Honda HRC’s Lawrence brothers finished 1-2 to become the first siblings in Supercross history to achieve such feat. Hunter Lawrence grabbed the holeshot and led the first half of the race until Jett made the pass for the lead and won his eighth race in his rookie season. Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson finished third, while Monster Energy Star Racing Yamaha’s Cooper Webb finished in fifth, losing 8 championship points to Jett. “It was a good night. Just more happy to get this for the team, honestly. They work so hard and we love those guys so much and this is the only way we can really, really repay them. And yeah, unreal, I think that was history for brothers going 1-2. So yeah, big night for Jett as well points-wise … [asked if he considered a strategy for helping his brother and possibly not pushing for the win] …the championship’s not about me right now, you know, it’s about Jett and Cooper. And the point of having a teammate is to, you know, help you out and stuff. You’ve seen over the past decade, so I was glad I was just able to help Jettson out for once. And yeah, it was cool, but just stoked for the team and yeah, I’ll get that win soon enough.” – Hunter Lawrence hunter lawrence, jett lawrence, supercross Share this post Leave a Reply Cancel reply Logged in as mx_admin.
