With only six hours of testing prior to the gate drop, Mangosong showcased elite adaptability and championship form aboard the Ducati Desmo450 MX and Fantic XXF 250, instantly putting both machines at the front of the field. In the premier MX1 class, Mangosong finished P2 in Round 1 and P1 in Round 2, delivering Ducati Philippines’ first overall victory of the 2026 championship weekend. He followed this with a flawless performance in the MX2 “Rider of the Year” class, winning both Round 1 and Round 2 (1-1) to take early control of the championship standings. Challenging him throughout both divisions was 2025 NAMSSA Rookie of the Year John Anthony Cortez of Team Honda, who consistently finished second overall in both MX1 and MX2 classes, setting the stage for a high-intensity rivalry as the season unfolds. Across the other categories, current overall points leaders include: Ladies MX – P1 Shana Vernice Tamayo, P2 Shaira Gamboa; Novice Open Production – P1 Carl Celestino, P2 McLaren Villacorta; Junior MX 125 – P1 Christopher Mercado, P2 Ivan del Rosario; Junior MX 85 – P1 Ivan del Rosario, P2 Joshua Vern Tamayo; Junior MX50 (Shaft Drive) – P1 Alexander Gamboa, P2 Adot Baltao; Junior MX65 – P1 Rio Remolacio, P2 Prince Aaron Mata; Junior MX50 (Chain Drive) – P1 Juan Pablo Dela Cuadra, P2 Amory De Vera; Veterans MX – P1 Kenneth San Andres, P2 Edsel Marajas; Masters – P1 Jovie Saulog, P2 Rizel Remolacio; and Novice Open Enduro – P1 McLaren Villacorta, P2 John Rey Arevalo. Mangosong’s immediate success signals a powerful new era for Ducati Philippines in Philippine motocross, proving that the combination of world-class engineering and a proven champion is already a winning formula. With momentum firmly on his side and more development time ahead, Mangosong has not only announced his arrival on Ducati machinery—he has taken early command of the 2026 championship narrative.
