Daytona, Florida, (March 2, 2025) Progressive Ecstar Suzuki’s Ken Roczen finally won the prestigious Daytona Supercross race in his eleventh attempt. It was an all-out battle from the beginning till the end. Roczen, who is always very fast at the beginning of the races, then somehow ends in second or third because of his longtime rival Monster Energy Star Yamaha’s Cooper Webb’s last surge and pass over him, did not flinch nor make a mistake, but it was Webb who actually cross-rutted in the final attempt to make a run on Roczen. Webb ended the night in second and extended his championship points lead to ten points over Red Bull KTM’s Chase Sexton, who had a massive crash during his heat race but miraculously recovered to qualify for the main event and eventually finished 5th. Red Bull KTM rider Aaron Plessinger led many laps and got his first podium of the season in third.
In the 250 East division, another red flag in three races, and this time it was caused by Monster Energy Pro Circuit Rider Levi Kitchen, who was the fastest rider in the race until he crashed. Kitchen sustained a fractured clavicle and upper back. In the staggered restart, it was Rockstar Energy Husqvarna’s RJ Hampshire who won the race, followed by defending 250 East champion Tom Vialle and Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Seth Hammaker.
