Ilocos rider snares limelight
Local enduro rider Roland Tabangay gained his fourth win after a dominating run on the seventh leg of the 2014 Mx Messiah Fairgrounds (MMF) 15-leg D-Motocross Series at MMF, Club Manila East, Taytay, Rizal. “Very exciting at maganda kasi pahirapan din ang laro. Naging maganda din ang ikot ko ngayong leg,” said Tabangay who is on his 20th year in the sport. Tabangay savored first in the New and Undeveloped (NU) category despite the motocross wit of contenders Edward Taguilaso and Earl Bryan Tulawie. “First and second leg, second lang ang nakuha ko. May time kasi na na-flat ang tires ko, nabalian ako ng swing arm at siyempre semplang di talaga nawawala sa laro,” Tabangay added. Meanwhile, 52-year-old Paul Mutuc secured the Open Production and Executive Open Production as the Banaag family went home victoriously, Jared first in the Kids Sr and father Juancho second to Mutuc in the Open Production. Other riders who gained the spotlight are David Viterbo of Kids 65cc, Jay Paul Wayet of Kids 50cc, JR Tulawie of Open Local Enduro at Bianvenido Torres of Open Underbone. Future races will be on May 17 and 24 at MMF.

Bucag captures D-Moto
Lourens Lad Bucag swept the Open Production and Underbone category in the sixth leg of the Mx Messiah Fairgrounds (MMF) 15-leg D-Motocross Series happened May 3 at MMF, Club Manila East, Taytay Rizal. “Sobrang saya kasi sa dami ng kalaban na magagaling ako pa na baguhan ang nanalo,” said Bucag of the 4 Brothers racing team. Bucag intensified in the fifth lap turned down fifty-two year old Paul Mutuc in the Open Production. Last week, the pride of Pasig marked first after overcoming Local Enduro winner and brother Begie Bucag, 28. “Sa akin mas challenging ang panalo ko noong nakaraan. Nakalaban ko si Jacob doon kahit non-bearing lang siya. Privilege na makapagsabayan si Jacob kahit di pa ko ganoon katagal sa production,” said the 24-year-old Bucag. The grateful Bucag considered his victory and talent as blessings from God. “Binigyan ako ng chance na maging rider ng xrm noon. Tapos nakilala ko ang mentor ko na si Bong at pinaheram ako ng production bike. Sobrang saya lalo na’t may mga tao na handang tumulong para madevelop ang skills,” added Bucag. Other winners are Ramil Aliho of Executive Production and Roland Tabangan of NU Local Enduro.
Bucag stole D-moto crown
New crowned Open Production titlist Lourens Lad Bucag showed who’s boss after battling against emerging motocross star Jacob Orbe in the fourth leg of the Mx Messiah Fairgrounds (MMF) 15-leg D-Motocross Series on Saturday at MMF, Club Manila East, Taytay Rizal. “Sobrang saya kasi sa dami ng kalaban ng magagaling ako pa na baguhan ang nanalo,” said twenty-four year old Bucag. Bucag of the 4 Brothers racing team brought home the beacon after an outstanding match in the Open Production. The Pasig pride shared his joy as he recalled times when people believed in him that he can ride and win, lending him a dirt bike to race. “May mga taong nagpaparem ng motor at naniwala na kaya kong lumaban at baling araw humelera sa mga sikat at magagaling na manlalaro sa motocross,” said Bucag. Drawn by his first win in the main event, Bucag disclosed his determination and inspiration in playing the extreme sport. “Practice pa kahit minsan kailangan talaga ng budget pero hindi hadlang ang pera pag gusto mo talagang manalo. Wag kalimutan si God at practice lang ng practice,” said Bucag.
Alberto pursues winning streak
KTM-Access Plus rider TJ Alberto bagged his third Open Production crown in the ongoing 2014 MMF 15-leg D-Motocross Series on April 5 at Mx Messiah Fairgrounds (MMF), Club Manila East, Taytay Rizal. Alberto dominated both moto 1 and moto 2 of leg four against Lad Bucag and Jojo Cochoco. Bucag took the holeshot yet failed to maintain the momentum when Alberto made a quick run to overcome Bucag. Taytay fans witnessed the bar-to-bar rally of Bucag-Cochoco in the last lap. Bucag went home second to Alberto as leg three’s second placer Cochoco sat on the third place. Other winners are Troy Alberto of Kids Sr and Kids 65cc, Juancho Banaag of Executive Open, Christopher Oberio of Local Enduro (KMX), Macmac Sta. Ana of Local Enduro (DT) and Roland Tambangay of NU Local Enduro.

Siksik na aksyon ang nasaksihan sa labang Jojo Cochoco at TJ Alberto sa Open Production sa pagpapatuloy ng 2014 MMF 15-leg D-Motocross Series nakaraang linggo sa Mx Messiah Fairgrounds (MMF), Club Manila East, Taytay Rizal. Matinding 2-1 record ang bitbit pauwi ni Alberto nang mabawian nito si Cochoco sa moto 2 ng karera. Sa kabila ng matagumpay na panimula, nahirapan ang D-Motocross leg 1 champ Cochoco dominahin ang moto 2 ng ikatlong leg. “Sa moto 1, mula simula hanggang finish ako ang nauuna. Kaso noong moto 2, pangatlo ako sa starting. Nahirapan akong unahan si TJ kasi madulas ang track. Kahit mag outer ako hirap pa din,” sabi ng pambato ng Cavite Cochoco. Maalala na si Alberto ng Access Plus ang nagwagi sa ikalawang leg samantalang si Cochoco ang nanalo sa unang leg ng serye. Samantala, naghari naman si Lad Bucag sa Open Local Enduro habang hindi naman nagpahuli si Darnel Francisco sa Executive A at si Toti Alberto sa Executive B. Hindi pa din natinag si Troy Alberto ng Access Plus na wagi sa ikalawang beses sa Kids Jr. Ang karerang inorganisa ng Xtreme Adrenaline Sports Entertainment Co. ay susundan sa Abril 5.

XAS goes to Candon
National motocross riders gathered and united as Xtreme Adrenaline Sports Entertainment Co. (XAS) opened the summer with its 2014 MMF National Motocross Tune Up Race powered by Petronas on March 23 at Candon, Ilocos Sur. “This is our first time to go out of our comfort zone. We are doing this because we want the sport to grow and we love Jesus. This year, we will have races in provinces to promote the sport as well as support riders to grow,” said Samuel Mark Tamayo, CEO of XAS, during the opening ceremony. The tune up race, organized in line with the Tobacco Festival of Candon City, drew a lot of attention among spectators and motocross fans in the north. Hungarian rider Deczi Balazs survived the Pro Open Production after a tough moto battle against the 15-time Rider of the Year Glenn Aguilar and Mindanao ace Bornok Mangosong. FEU-Makati student Jacob Orbe topped the Pro Lites battle when he overpowered McLean Aguilar, John Flores, Ralph Ramento and Jensen Manuel. Other categories were Open Local Enduro, Open Underbone, Amateur Open Production, Veteran, Executive, Ladies, Kids Sr and Kids Jr (65cc and 50cc). First time riders were encouraged to join the New and Undeveloped (NU) races. Cash prizes, Petronas lubricants and gift items were given away to the top three winners of the event.
