Eli Tomac in stealth mode at Arlington Supercross

Arlington, Texas (Feb. 24, 2024) Monster Energy Start Racing Yamaha rider Eli Tomac came into the season with a goal to erase the memory of his tragic season-ending injury that cost him the 450 Supercross title last year. And with his caliber as a rider, everyone expected him to be the only guy who could stop the young Honda rider, Jett Lawrence! But after six rounds, he experienced a lot of struggles, like an arm pump issue and a lack of speed like before, not to mention the enormous pressure of the fans and media expecting him to be great. Even his main competitor, Jett Lawrence, when he passed Tomac in a race, mentioned in the press conference that the rider who was once in “beast mode” is not the same rider as he used to be in terms of speed. He kept receipts and is motivated more than ever to silence his critics.

Mangosong dominates round 1 of Motor Ace Motocross Series

Wao Lanao del Sur, Philippines (February 18, 2024) BM111 Yamaha Sec rider Bornok Mangosong dominates round 1 of the Motor Ace Motocross Series, sweeping the four races and getting the overall for both the Pro Open and Pro Lites categories in front of approximately 31 thousand fans. Kawasaki Motor PH-ACGR rider Terrence Napat held consistent positions to challenge Mangosong for the top spot, held second place, and finished second overall in both Pro categories.

Eli Tomac versus Jett Lawrence is a draw after 6 rounds.

The most anticipated battle since last year was Eli Tomac versus Jett Lawrence! The last race of the Triple Crown in Anaheim 2 saw Eli Tomac lead from the first lap to the last, and Jett was pushing to catch Eli but crashed in the whoops during the last lap. At the Glendale Arizona Supercross, however, the latter passed Tomac for the last place on the podium. The question now is: did we just witness the changing of the guards in 450 Supercross?

Rj Hampshire and Billy Laninovich prove Supercross is not just for the young. (MMF Editorial)

What a picture captured during the 250 Lites Class at Glendale, Arizona, where 28-year-old Rj Hampshire of Rockstar Husqvarna won and Team Faith’s 40-year-old Billy Laninovich, although getting lapped, was still able to qualify amongst the best Lites riders comprised of riders half his age! In a sport where age 28 is already a retirement age, RJ winning and Billy qualifying is such a huge feat!

Jett Lawrence reclaims the Red Plate in Glendale Arizona

Glendale Arizona (February 11, 2024) Honda USA Racing rider Jett Lawrence reclaims the overall points lead in the 2024 Monster Energy Supercross 450 class organized by Feld Entertainment. It was a highly anticipated duel between him and Red Bull KTM defending 450 champion Chase Sexton, as they are separated only by one point heading into this round. But the battle didn’t materialize, as the reigning champion was found to be nursing an arm injury sustained during practice last week.

Ken Roczen Dominates Glendale Arizona Supercross

Glendale, Arizona, Feb. 11, 2024: 55,627 fans witnessed Ken Roczen lead from start to finish and grab his first win of the season. He is the fifth rider in six rounds to win a race in the 450 class of the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series organized by Feld Entertainment. The track became slippery and hard-packed at the end, which caused a lot of riders to crash. This probably allowed Kick Start Kenny to have a dominant ride growing up riding the same conditions in Germany. This is what he had to say during the press conference:

The old Chase is gone, and the new Sexton is here. -Mmf Editorial

Red Bull KTM rider Chase Sexton is the first back-to-back Red Plate holder this season. He looked calm and calculated, which is a sign of maturity for the reigning Monster Energy AMA 450 Supercross Champion. Speed has never been an issue for Chase, as he has the ability to just go fast—actually faster than most of his competitors—but he also crashes a lot.
